Driver arrested on warrant in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A traffic stop for an equipment violation led to the arrest of a man wanted on multiple warrants from Florida.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon were on patrol on the south side of the city at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday when they observed a motor vehicle with an equipment violation.

Police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Through investigation, officers discovered that the driver, Daniel D. Pokrajac, had multiple felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants out of the state of Florida.

Pokrajac was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.

He is being charged with being a fugitive from justice and was held pending arraignment while he awaits extradition.

Pokrajac was also issued uniform traffic tickets.
