PLATTSBURGH, NY — A 58-year-old man was arrested on assault and other charges following an altercation on April 13, 2026.
Mark A. Joanette, of Plattsburgh, was taken into custody at 5:03 p.m. by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Joanette is charged with third-degree assault, resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, all class A misdemeanors.
Deputies said Joanette allegedly struck an individual, causing injury, during an altercation in the Town of Plattsburgh.
Authorities said Joanette resisted deputies at the time of his arrest.
Joanette was processed at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned at the Town of Plattsburgh Court.
He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date.
