THETFORD, VT — A West Fairlee man faces multiple charges after allegedly becoming confrontational with ambulance personnel on Interstate 91 South.
Robert Horton, 51, of West Fairlee, was cited on simple assault, criminal threatening and aggravated disorderly conduct charges.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to Interstate 91 South at mile marker 82.3 at approximately 5:05 p.m. on April 12, 2026, to assist Upper Valley Ambulance.
Horton, who was being transported as a patient, became confrontational with ambulance crew members, according to police.
The Thetford Fire Chief and Hanover Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The scene was rendered safe and Horton was transported without further issue, police said.
The victim was identified as Sophia Moore, 23, of Fairlee.
Horton was issued a citation on April 14, 2026.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at Orange County Criminal Court on May 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
