TRENTON, NJ — A 25-year-old man faces multiple weapons charges following a traffic stop that led to a struggle with police.
Elijah Livingston was arrested at approximately 9:07 p.m. April 4 in the area of North Fischer Place and Mercer Alley.
Trenton Police Patrol Bureau officers conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing several motor vehicle violations.
Officers requested Livingston, who was driving the vehicle, to exit.
A struggle ensued when officers attempted to conduct a pat frisk of Livingston for a firearm.
Livingston was taken into custody, and a search incident to arrest found he possessed a Springfield Armory Hellcat, 9mm, semi-automatic handgun.
Livingston was charged with first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a high-capacity magazine, unlawful possession of hollow point ammunition, obstructing administration of law, resisting arrest and certain person not to possess firearms.
He was issued numerous motor vehicle summonses and lodged pending court proceedings.
