Two arrested after motorcycle crash in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police are investigating a crash between a car and motorcycle that left the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries at the intersection of Country Club Road and Higby Road.

The motorcycle operator was flown by Life Star to Hartford Hospital, where the person was in surgery at the time of the report.

The operator of the motor vehicle fled the scene after being picked up by another vehicle, according to police.

The passenger initially told investigating officers she was the operator of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle.

Video of the crash later showed a male operator and the female as a passenger.

Both were arrested and charged.

Marco Jefferson Chamorro Cordova, 18, of Middletown, was held on $500,000 cash/surety bond.

He was charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility in an accident with serious physical injuries, DUI, operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to grant right of way at an intersection.

Diana Anton Peralta, 20, of Middletown, was released on $10,000 non-surety bond.

She was charged with interfering with an officer.
