WATERBURY, VT — A Barre woman was cited following a single-vehicle crash on US Route 2 on April 13, 2026.
Troopers responded to the crash near Farrs Landing Private at approximately 4:04 p.m.
Christa Lampman, 52, of Barre, was traveling south on US Route 2 in a 2003 Honda Element when she came upon a stopped school bus with its red lights illuminated and a juvenile actively getting off the bus, according to police.
Lampman reported a vehicular malfunction while maneuvering around a corner, resulting in her going off the roadway and striking shrubbery, police said.
No collision with the school bus or juvenile occurred.
The Honda Element sustained front-end damage.
Lampman was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Roads were wet and it was raining at the time of the crash.
Lampman was released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court on June 4, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., to answer to a charge of negligent operation, a violation of Title 23 V.S.A. 1091.
She was also cited for a violation of Title 23 V.S.A. 800, maintenance of financial responsibility.
