BOLIVAR, NY — Police are warning residents to lock their vehicles after numerous complaints of people entering cars to steal items.
Two local individuals have been charged recently in connection with the break-ins, according to the Bolivar Police Department.
Both suspects were released with appearance tickets due to New York State Bail Reform requirements.
Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles even at home or when leaving them for only a few minutes.
Authorities also recommend never leaving keys in vehicles and removing all valuables.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity should immediately call 911.
Police asked residents not to report crimes to the office phone and instead use 911 or the county non-emergency line.
