BATH, NY — An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department observed a vehicle traveling west on West Morris Street in violation of a section of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law on April 5, 2026, at approximately 10:09 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation ensued.
During the investigation, an occupant of the vehicle attempted to discard a container of methamphetamine onto the shoulder of the roadway.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of additional quantities of methamphetamine, a scale, packaging material, and illegally possessed chuka sticks.
Patricia E. Butler, 32, of Painted Post, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th intent to sell, a class D felony, and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree.
Zachary N. Scott, 35, of Painted Post, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Ryan J. Butler, 41, of Painted Post, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree, a class D felony.
The subjects were processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where they were all released.
