Residential fire in Howell Township

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police and fire crews responded to a residential structure fire Saturday afternoon.

The Howell Township Police Department responded to 18 Dutch Valley Road at approximately 1:53 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

Officers observed black smoke and swirling flames coming from the rear of the residence upon arrival.

All occupants and animals had evacuated from the residence and were uninjured.

Multiple agencies responded to assist with firefighting, investigation and aid efforts, including the Southard Fire Department, Freewood Acres Fire Company, Squankum Fire Company, Ramtown Fire Company, Jackson Township Fire Department, Lakewood Fire Department, South Wall Fire Company, Howell Police Department EMS, Howell Township First Aid, Howell Township Fire Bureau, Monmouth County Fire Marshal, New Jersey Natural Gas and the American Red Cross.

No injuries to responding personnel were reported.

The Howell Township Fire Bureau and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
