Search underway for missing person in Hooksett

HOOKSETT, NH — New Hampshire State Police and multiple agencies are searching for a person reported to have fallen into the Merrimack River from a railroad bridge Saturday evening.

State Police received a report at 7:08 p.m. that an individual fell into the river from the railroad track bridge near Riverside Street and Main Street.

Multiple agencies responded, including State Police Marine Patrol officers, troopers from Troop D and Troop G barracks, Hooksett Police Department, Hooksett Fire-Rescue Department, Hopkinton Police Department and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

First responders used boats to search the water and riverbanks, as well as drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras.

Search operations continued for several hours before being paused overnight.

Efforts are expected to resume during daylight hours Sunday.

The identity of the missing individual is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.
