Man arrested on drug charges in Ansonia

ANSONIA, CT — Detectives from the Watertown Police Department executed a search warrant at 75 Garden St. on April 9, 2026, at approximately 1 p.m.

The search warrant was executed with assistance from Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Division, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and in coordination with the Ansonia Police Department.

Following a narcotics investigation in Watertown, members of the Watertown Police Department’s Detective Division obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence, where they located and seized a significant amount of illegal narcotics and paraphernalia.

Joseph Crego, 30, of Ansonia, was arrested on site and taken into custody by the Watertown Police Department.

He was charged with operation of a drug factory, two counts of sale of a hallucinogen, sale of narcotics (greater than one half ounce of cocaine), and sale of narcotics.

Crego is being held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on April 10, 2026.
