FAIRFIELD, NJ — A Paterson woman was arrested on a shoplifting charge at a Target store April 7.
Yasmin Delarosa-Martinez, 35, of Paterson, was taken into custody after being detained by store security, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Officers Frank Patierno and Jonathan Scrivo were dispatched to the Target store at approximately 9:13 p.m. on a report of a female shoplifter being held by security.
Police allege Delarosa-Martinez filled a shopping cart and proceeded to the self-checkout area.
While at the self-checkout, she allegedly did not scan all the items in her cart and attempted to conceal them inside her jacket.
She was stopped by security before leaving the store.
The total value of the merchandise allegedly shoplifted was $212.90.
Delarosa-Martinez was transported to police headquarters for processing.
She was charged with shoplifting and later released pending an initial appearance at the Essex County Superior Courthouse.
