Man arrested on burglary charge in North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police arrested a man on burglary charges after he was found inside a storage facility on April 8, 2026.

North Haven officers responded to a Washington Avenue storage facility for a reported commercial burglary.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that an unknown individual, dressed in all black, had unlawfully entered the building using bolt cutters and was believed to be inside the premises.

Officers conducted a search of the building and located a set of bolt cutters, along with an adult male found inside a restroom.

The individual was identified as Mohamed Souare, 18, of Hamden.

Officers issued verbal commands for him to exit, and he was subsequently taken into custody.

Souare was transported to the North Haven Police Department, where he was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possession of burglar tools and interfering with an officer.
