Man arrested on assault charge in Wilton

WILTON, NY — State Police arrested a Moreau man on assault and weapons charges following a stabbing incident.

Clinton J. Breault, 55, of Moreau, was arrested March 29, 2026, and charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Troopers responded to a residence on Bluebird Road in Moreau at about 2:51 p.m. for a report of an individual suffering from a stab wound.

The investigation determined that Breault allegedly stabbed the victim, who was known to him, in the hand during a dispute.

The injury was determined to be non-life-threatening.

The victim was transported to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment.

Breault was arrested and transported to State Police Wilton for processing.

He was arraigned at Moreau Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
