WEST NEW YORK, NJ — Detectives from the West New York Police Department Anti-Crime Unit executed a search warrant March 26 following an investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics.
Detectives, with the assistance of the Patrol Division and Specialized Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence located on the 6400 block of Bergenline Avenue.
As a result, Heriberto Rivera, 44, of West New York, was taken into custody.
During the search, detectives recovered significant quantities of suspected narcotics, including cocaine, heroin, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, as well as an illegal firearm.
Rivera was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a first-degree offense; possession with intent to distribute heroin, a first-degree offense; possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, a second-degree offense; possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a second-degree offense; certain persons not to possess weapons; and possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense.
Rivera was transported to the West New York Police Department for processing and was subsequently remanded to the Hudson County Jail.
