BLENHEIM, NY — Deputies responded to Bear Ladder Road on April 6, 2026 around 4:14 p.m. for a welfare check on a man who appeared intoxicated and possibly in need of help.
While assisting him, deputies determined he was trespassing and had already been asked to leave but refused, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies attempted to arrest him, he resisted and struggled during the process.
Leland Neff, 72, of Blenheim, was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation.
Neff was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Blenheim Court at a later date.
