SOMERS, NY — New York State Police arrested a Yorktown Heights man on a felony stalking charge April 5, 2026.
Michael Portella, 25, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with second-degree stalking, a class E felony.
State Police in Somers received a stalking complaint April 4, 2026.
The victim reported being repeatedly contacted by Portella via social media and had clearly advised him to cease contact.
Despite this, Portella continued the unwanted communication, according to police.
The victim further reported that Portella independently obtained their home address and subsequently appeared unannounced at the residence.
Portella was arraigned before the Town of Somers Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $25,000 bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond.
A temporary order of protection was issued for the victim.
Portella is scheduled to appear before the Town of Somers Court on April 6, 2026, at 5 p.m.
