LAGRANGE, NY — New York State Police arrested a Bronx man on drunken driving charges after a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Jose R. Lorenzo Paulino, 43, of Bronx, was stopped at approximately 2:35 a.m. April 4, 2026, while driving an Infiniti eastbound on Noxon Road for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Police said Paulino displayed signs of intoxication during the stop.
He failed standardized field sobriety tests, according to police.
Two children, ages 5 and 11, were in the vehicle at the time of the stop, police said.
Paulino was taken into custody and transported to State Police barracks in Poughkeepsie for processing.
He refused to submit to a chemical breath test, police said.
The children were released to a sober third party.
Paulino was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a class E felony, and driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.
He also was cited for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
Paulino was issued an appearance ticket returnable to LaGrange Town Court on May 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
