Two arrested on domestic assault charges in Brownington

BROWNINGTON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested two men following a physical domestic dispute on Hoadley Lane on April 4, 2026.

Troopers from the Derby barracks, with assistance from the Newport Police Department and Orleans Ambulance, were dispatched to a residence at 5:50 p.m.

Investigation revealed Robert Moore, 54, of Brownington, and Dalton Moore, 24, of Brownington, had caused minor bodily injury to a family member.

Dalton Moore was also believed to have damaged two vehicles on the property and was in violation of court-ordered conditions of release by engaging in violent behavior.

Both Robert Moore and Dalton Moore were transported to the Derby barracks for processing.

Robert Moore was charged with domestic assault.

Dalton Moore was charged with domestic assault, unlawful mischief and violation of conditions of release.

Both individuals were later released with conditions of release ordered by the court and flash citations to appear in Orleans Criminal Court on April 6, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.
