VERONA, PA — A man was arrested on firearms and drug charges after police conducted a vehicle stop Friday evening.
Verona officers observed a suspicious vehicle along West Railroad Avenue in the vicinity of James Street at 6:52 p.m.
Upon approaching the vehicle and initiating contact, officers identified the occupant as Te Mon Montez Jackson, 20, of Clairton.
Officers determined that Jackson had an active outstanding warrant for his arrest.
A search of the scene led to the discovery of a handgun in Jackson’s possession.
Due to a prior criminal record, Jackson is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Narcotics were also discovered during the incident.
Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail to await his preliminary hearing on firearms and drug offenses.
