BRANFORD, CT — A substitute teacher has been arrested following a months-long investigation into an incident at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School.
Jack N. Gill, 24, of Hamden, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon on a criminal arrest warrant.
Police said the incident allegedly occurred on Jan. 20, 2026, while Gill was employed as an outsourced substitute teacher at the school.
During the investigation, detectives learned Gill had also been accused of engaging in similar conduct in Hamden.
The Hamden Police Department arrested Gill on March 27 as part of a separate investigation.
Gill was charged with risk of injury to a minor and sexual assault in the fourth degree.
He was processed and released after posting a court-set bond of $75,000.
Gill is scheduled to appear at New Haven Superior Court on April 14.
The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Branford Police Department in coordination with the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office.
