STROUDSBURG, PA — A 41-year-old man turned himself in to authorities on March 31 to face charges stemming from a domestic violence incident last month.
Joseph Anthony Leach, of Stroudsburg, surrendered at Magisterial District Judge Johnson’s office at 10:00 a.m. while accompanied by his attorney.
Leach was arraigned and released on bail.
The charges stem from an incident on March 5 at 6:11 p.m. when Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to the Yard of Ale on Main Street.
A woman reported she had been involved in a domestic violence incident with Leach, her ex-boyfriend.
The victim told police the incident began as a verbal argument that turned physical.
Officers observed the victim had several injuries.
Police were unable to locate Leach at the time of the initial response.
An arrest warrant was issued for Leach on March 5.
Leach faces charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment by physical contact.
