Police seek vehicle in fatal hit-and-run on Corliss Street in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Providence Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident.

The collision occurred on Corliss Street at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The vehicle was observed leaving the downtown area prior to the collision and was last seen traveling on Branch Avenue toward the Interstate 95 on-ramp from North Main Street.

Police are searching for a black Chevrolet Traverse, second generation model years 2018 through 2023.

The vehicle has alloy wheels and a gold Chevrolet emblem with chrome center emblem on the rear.

The vehicle sustained front-end damage to the center driver-side hood, chrome trim, grille area and undercarriage.

The hazard lights were activated during the crash and likely still require service to be turned off.

The vehicle may have a Massachusetts registration.
