WYNCOTE, PA — A Planet Fitness employee was stabbed multiple times during an altercation with a person who had been banned from the gym, police said.
Cheltenham Township police and emergency medical services responded to the fitness center at 1000 South Easton Road at about 12:33 p.m. Thursday for a report of a stabbing.
The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and transported to an area trauma center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
A suspect was apprehended a short distance away by responding officers and will face multiple criminal charges.
Preliminary investigation determined the stabbing occurred during an altercation with a person who had previously been banned from the business.
The incident remains under investigation by the Cheltenham Police Department.
