Garbage truck spills load on roadway in Kent

KENT, NY — A garbage truck dumped its entire load across a major intersection and roadway early Tuesday morning.

Kent police were dispatched at approximately 6:15 a.m. to a road hazard at Route 311 and Route 52.

Officers arrived to find the contents of a garbage truck completely emptied onto the roadway at the intersection.

The debris continued south on Route 52 past Holland Drive.

The Town of Kent Highway Department responded to assist in clearing the roadway.

The New York State Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.

Police made contact with the private garbage company, which was expected to respond to remove the refuse.

The roadway was made completely passable.
