WEST HAVEN, CT — Police arrested two people after gunshots were fired at a bar early Tuesday morning.

The West Haven Police Department received a report of possible gunshots in the area of Campbell Avenue and Captain Thomas Boulevard at approximately 12:21 a.m. on March 31.

While officers were responding, one officer observed a gray Infiniti traveling northbound on Campbell Avenue at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles.

Officers were initially unable to locate the vehicle.

While searching for evidence on Captain Thomas Boulevard, officers observed what appeared to be the same gray Infiniti traveling westbound toward Campbell Avenue.

The Infiniti turned onto Campbell Avenue and quickly stopped in front of a bar on the lower end of the street.

Officers then heard multiple gunshots that appeared to be directed at the bar.

No injuries were reported by anyone inside or around the establishment.

The Infiniti fled northbound on Campbell Avenue, and officers initiated a pursuit.

A tire deflation device was deployed, and the Infiniti struck the device before crashing into a parked vehicle a short distance later.

Officers observed a man wearing a black ski mask and black jacket exit the vehicle and flee on foot.

Officers caught up to the individual and took him into custody without incident.

He was identified as Izaiah Moore, 20, of West Haven.

Officers arrested the female operator of the Infiniti, identified as Jisela Villanueva, 26, of West Haven.

The handgun was recovered a short time later underneath a parked vehicle.

Police believe the firearm was thrown from the vehicle by Villanueva during the pursuit.

Villanueva was charged with engaging police in pursuit, interfering with an officer, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

Moore was charged with interfering with an officer.

Both were held on bond and appeared in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday.

Police said additional charges are expected.
