CLINTON, CT — Police investigated a reported threat involving a school bus carrying students from Jared Eliot Middle School on March 30, 2026.
The Clinton Emergency Communications Center received a 911 text message at approximately 2:53 p.m. reporting a potential threat to a school bus transporting students after dismissal.
The bus was traveling in the area of Fairy Dell Road at the time of the report.
Clinton Police Department officers responded immediately to the scene.
As a precautionary measure, all students were safely evacuated from the bus.
Officers conducted a thorough investigation and determined the reported threat was not credible.
Students safely reboarded the bus and resumed their normal dismissal route following the investigation.
All students were transported and dropped off at their designated stops without further incident.
Police said there is no threat to the public or the school community.
The Clinton Police Department was assisted by the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, Clinton Public Schools and M&J Bus Company.
