WARRINGTON, PA — A welfare check at a gas station led to a drug-related arrest in the early morning hours of March 19, 2026.
A Warrington police officer responded to the Aplus Sunoco at 580 Easton Road at approximately 3:52 a.m. after discovering a man slumped over behind the wheel of a parked vehicle.
The officer identified the driver as Scott Schafer, 47, of Ottsville, Pennsylvania.
Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, the officer found that it was not on file with PennDOT.
Schafer told police he had purchased the vehicle hours earlier on Facebook Marketplace and a friend had lent him a license plate.
During the interaction, the officer observed physical indicators consistent with methamphetamine use.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of five flip-top capsules containing a white crystal-like substance, along with a straw that had white residue.
Schafer was taken into custody and processed before being released.
He faces charges related to prohibited acts and penalties under Pennsylvania drug statutes.
