GUILFORD, NY — A 45-year-old man faces multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Guilford.
Travis L. Rifanburg, of Oxford, was arrested March 29, 2026, by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Town of Guilford for an equipment violation.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Rifanburg, who was found to have a revoked New York state driver’s license and an active warrant for his arrest for petit larceny.
Rifanburg was arrested and transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office to be held for centralized arraignment.
Once at the sheriff’s office, Rifanburg was turned over to corrections where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.
Rifanburg was then charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and promoting prison contraband in the second degree.
He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
Rifanburg is to appear in the Town of Norwich Court and the Town of Guilford Court at a later date.
