BELFAST, ME — Two people were arrested and charged with arson following a structure fire early Friday morning.
The Belfast Fire and Police Department were dispatched to 81 Patterson Hill Road at approximately 2:45 a.m. for a reported structure fire.
Upon arrival, Belfast Police observed a fully involved structure fire.
Police located two individuals nearby, identified as Isaac Cummings, 19, of Belfast, and Rowan Locke, 19, of Belfast.
Due to the circumstances presented on scene, investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office were requested to respond.
A fire scene examination and numerous interviews were conducted.
It was determined the fire was intentionally set.
The investigation into the fire continued throughout the day with the assistance of the Belfast Police Detective Division.
On Friday afternoon, investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office charged Cummings and Locke with arson.
Both were transported to the Somerset County Jail where they are being held on $10,000 cash bail.
