MORRISTOWN, VT — A 67-year-old man died after his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree on March 28.
Kevin Emmons was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. at the scene at the intersection of Vermont Route 100 and Goeltz Road.
Officers from the Morristown Police Department responded to the intersection at approximately 3:48 p.m. for a report of a green Subaru that had crashed into the woods.
When they arrived, officers located a green 2025 Subaru Outback in the tree line across an open field.
Emmons was unresponsive.
Morristown officers and Morristown Rescue attempted life-saving techniques before Emmons was pronounced deceased.
The initial investigation indicates Emmons was traveling north on Vermont Route 100 and turning onto Goeltz Road when his vehicle left the roadway and went through the field before crashing into a tree.
Emmons showed no injuries from the crash.
Vermont Route 100 was closed for a short period while law enforcement processed the scene.
The Stowe Police Department assisted at the scene.
Emmons’ cause of death remains under investigation.
