WINOOSKI, VT — A Colchester man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being clocked at 106 mph on Interstate 89, according to Vermont State Police.
Joshua J. Derouchie, 26, of Colchester, was stopped at approximately 8:18 p.m. March 28 after troopers observed his vehicle traveling well in excess of the posted 55 mph speed limit.
The vehicle’s speed was confirmed by radar to be 106 mph in the 55 mph zone on Interstate 89 northbound at Exit 15.
While speaking with Derouchie during the traffic stop, troopers detected indicators of impairment, police said.
After an investigation, Derouchie was arrested on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.
Derouchie was released with a citation to appear at Chittenden County court on April 16, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to charges of DUI second offense and grossly negligent operation.
