ATCO, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning on the White Horse Pike.
The Waterford Township Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Route 30 near Vineyard Road in the Atco section of the township.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling eastbound on the White Horse Pike struck a pedestrian who appeared to be attempting to cross the roadway.
The pedestrian was identified as Marc Kafitin, 51, of Voorhees.
Kafitin sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by the Waterford Township Police Department in conjunction with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
