FERRISBURGH, VT — A Vergennes man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a parked vehicle and striking four pedestrians Friday evening.
Matthew Stanley, 33, of Vergennes, was taken into custody following the crash on Basin Harbor Road at approximately 6:01 p.m.
State police said Stanley lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway.
His vehicle struck a parked car and four pedestrians, including Benjamin Cosabic, 43, and three juveniles ages 12, 11 and 10.
All four pedestrians sustained suspected moderate injuries and were transported to UVM Medical Center.
Troopers detected indicators of impairment during their investigation.
Stanley was transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.
He faces charges of DUI and grossly negligent operation.
