Missing person found in Newberry Township

NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — A 69-year-old man reported missing was safely located approximately two miles from his residence on March 27.

Officers from the Newberry Township Police Department were dispatched to the first block of Sam Snead Circle at approximately 7:30 a.m. for a report of a missing male who had left his residence and was believed to be in a confused state.

Officers arrived within minutes and began an immediate search of the surrounding area, including reviewing residential surveillance footage.

Additional resources were requested, including the South Central PA Search and Rescue Team (Search 93), York County Department of Emergency Services, and the Newberry Township Fire Department.

An incident command post was established to the rear of Red Mill Elementary School.

Coordination took place with West Shore School District officials.

The individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
