MECHANIC FALLS, ME — Police arrested a suspect Thursday night following an assault on a family member.
Officers from the Mechanic Falls Police Department were dispatched to an active assault in progress at a property on Jordan Road at around 11:25 p.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, officers determined the assailant had attacked a family member and was possibly barricaded inside a structure on the property and potentially armed.
Jordan Road was shut down for a brief period as officers and deputies set up a perimeter around the structure.
The suspect was taken into custody a short time later and booked at the Androscoggin County Jail.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office and United Ambulance Services assisted at the scene.
