Woman arrested on arson charge in West Bath

WEST BATH, ME — A woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fire that destroyed a barn at her home earlier this month.

Grace Burnham, 38, of West Bath, was taken into custody at approximately 5:45 p.m. at her residence.

The fire occurred on March 14 at the same property and destroyed a small barn that was being used to house goats.

No animals were injured in the incident.

Burnham was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail and charged with arson, failure to report or control a dangerous fire and animal cruelty.

The investigation was conducted by the Fire Marshal’s Office with assistance from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department and the West Bath Animal Control Officer.
