SAINT JOHNSBURY, VT — A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle was found in a ditch Thursday night.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were notified at approximately 11:49 p.m. March 26, 2026, of a single vehicle located in a ditch on U.S. Route 2 near Petty Co Junction.
Troopers responded to the scene and located the vehicle operated by Connor H. Ladd of Saint Johnsbury.
As troopers spoke with Ladd, indicators of impairment were detected, according to police.
Ladd was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Saint Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander sustained minor damage.
Ladd was later issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division and released.
Road conditions were wet and it was raining at the time of the incident.
