Woman arrested on DUI charge in Saint Johnsbury

SAINT JOHNSBURY, VT — A Danville woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Thursday morning after state police say she was driving on the wrong side of the road.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were on routine patrol at 1:14 a.m. when they observed a motor vehicle operating on the wrong side of a divided portion of U.S. Route 5 near Interstate 91.

Police say the vehicle nearly struck troopers.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the parking lot of the barracks.

Troopers spoke with the operator, identified as Quatie L. Allen-Hayden, 30, of Danville, and detected indicators of impairment.

Allen-Hayden was arrested for suspicion of DUI and walked into the Saint Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

She was also charged with negligent operation.

Allen-Hayden was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division and released.
