WEST ISLIP, NY — A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl he met through social media.
Michael Liontonia, of West Islip, was taken into custody at his home on March 25, according to Suffolk County Police.
Police said the assault occurred on March 23 inside Liontonia’s vehicle.
The victim reported the incident to a school guidance counselor the following day, and police were notified.
Liontonia has been charged with rape in the first degree, rape in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Liontonia to contact police.
