LAKEWOOD, NJ — Lakewood police arrested two men on drug charges during separate motor vehicle stops over a two-day period.
On March 19, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Martin Luther King Drive.
During the investigation, suspected crack cocaine, heroin, MDMA and marijuana were recovered, along with packaging materials consistent with distribution.
Kyle Martin, 47, of Lakewood, was taken into custody and charged with multiple drug-related offenses.
On March 21, officers conducted another motor vehicle stop which led to the arrest of Benjamin Grinley, 33, of Neptune, who had an active NCIC warrant out of Delaware.
During that same investigation, Martin was again taken into custody after additional suspected controlled dangerous substances were recovered.
A K-9 unit from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department assisted on scene.
Both individuals were charged accordingly and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
“These arrests highlight the type of proactive police work our officers are doing every day,” said Chief Gregory H. Meyer.
“We will continue to focus our efforts on those involved in narcotics activity and hold them accountable.”
The investigations remain ongoing.
