MALTA, NY — A Troy man faces a felony drug charge following a traffic stop on Malta Avenue.
John W. Noob, 56, of Troy, was arrested Tuesday at 6:34 p.m. after a Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped his vehicle for failing to signal a lane change within 100 feet of doing so.
An investigation during the stop led to Noob’s arrest on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony.
Noob is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing 500 milligrams or more of cocaine.
He was also cited for operating a motor vehicle on a public highway without a valid certificate of inspection and failing to signal a lane change within 100 feet of doing so, both infractions.
Noob was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
