HINESBURG, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a woman on suspicion of DUI following a single-vehicle crash on March 23, 2026.
Christal Brown, 60, of St. George, was traveling south on Vermont Route 116 near Buck Ridge Barns when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole at approximately 10:37 p.m.
Brown was wearing a seat belt but sustained chest injuries in the crash.
She was transported to UVM Medical Center for treatment.
The 2012 Nissan Altima sustained front-end damage.
Road conditions were snow covered and it was snowing at the time of the crash.
Police determined impairment was a contributing factor in the crash.
Brown was issued a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court on June 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of DUI.
Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by Richmond Rescue, Hinesburg Fire and Rescue, and Giroux’s Garage.
