PEEKSKILL, NY — A Connecticut man was arrested Monday after police say he approached two 14-year-old girls on separate occasions this month.

Gennaro Trainello of Danbury, Connecticut, was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m. on March 24 by members of the Peekskill Police Department Detective Division.

Police received two separate reports, one on March 6 and one on March 23, involving juvenile victims.

On March 6, Trainello approached a 14-year-old girl on her way to school in the area of James Street and Brown Street, asking her if she was interested in work and stating he would pay her for a massage, according to police.

The juvenile declined and continued to school where she reported the incident to the Peekskill High School School Resource Officer, which established the initial investigation.

On March 23, Trainello is accused of approaching another 14-year-old girl on Howard Street and reportedly convinced the victim to enter his vehicle with promises of paid work, police said.

He drove her to the Walgreens Pharmacy on Main Street where he parked, according to police.

After a brief discussion, the victim exited the vehicle onto Main Street and the suspect drove away, police said.

Trainello was arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim or anyone with information to contact the Peekskill Police Detective Division at 914-737-8000 or email [email protected].
