Man arrested in drug investigation in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, MA — A search warrant execution led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man and the recovery of two firearms, drugs and cash on Monday.

Members of the District C-11 (Dorchester) and District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Units executed a search warrant in the area of Hamilton Street in Dorchester, resulting in the arrest of Lonnie Fortes, of Dorchester.

Officers conducted a drug investigation into the suspect which resulted in the retention of a search warrant for both the suspect’s person as well as his residence.

At about 3:30 p.m., while surveilling the suspect’s residence, officers observed the suspect arrive at the location in his motor vehicle.

Officers approached the suspect and notified him of the search warrants.

The suspect provided the keys to the residence which officers used to make entry.

Upon entering the residence, officers recovered a Harrington and Richardson Arms .22 caliber firearm, a Navy Arms Company .22 caliber firearm, four plastic bags containing crack cocaine, four plastic bags containing marijuana, 30 Oxycodone pills, 12 Adderall pills, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Fortes is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class B substance, possession with intent to distribute Class B substance subsequent offense and possession with intent to distribute Class D substance subsequent offense.
