Vehicle enters Connecticut River in Rocky Hill

ROCKY HILL, CT — Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had entered the Connecticut River at a local boat launch on Thursday.

Initial information indicated that there was one occupant inside the vehicle.

Officers, along with the Rocky Hill Fire Department, responded immediately and worked together to safely remove the individual from the vehicle.

It was confirmed that there were no additional occupants.

The individual was alert and cooperative with emergency personnel at the scene.

During the rescue, one officer sustained minor injuries.

Both the occupant and the officer were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The officer was treated and released.

The vehicle has since been successfully removed from the river.
