ALBURGH, VT — A woman faces a criminal charge after an investigation into allegations of child abuse.
Nicole LaBonte, 27, of Alburgh, was cited March 24 on a charge of cruelty to a child by a person over the age of 16.
Vermont State Police initiated an investigation March 13 in conjunction with the Northwest Unit for Special Investigations, Department for Children and Families, and University of Vermont Medical Center.
Investigators determined LaBonte on multiple occasions endangered the health and wellbeing of a 6-year-old juvenile in her care.
LaBonte was ordered to appear at the Grand Isle Superior Court Criminal Division on April 30 at 8:30 a.m.
