Man cited for ignition interlock violation in Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, VT — A traffic stop on March 20, 2026, led to the citation of a motorist for violating ignition interlock device requirements.

Troopers from the Williston barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop on Vermont Route 100C near Vermont Route 100 at 9:47 a.m. for an equipment violation.

The operator was identified as Anthony Gillespie, 36, of Belvidere.

Investigation revealed Gillespie was only permitted to operate a motor vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device, which the vehicle he was operating was not equipped with.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Morristown Police Department for processing.

He was released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court – Criminal Division.
