Teen charged with stealing firearm in Fine

FINE, NY — New York State Police charged a 14-year-old male with grand larceny, criminal sale of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm on March 19, 2026.

A 17-year-old male, of Gouverneur, was also charged with criminal sale of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.

State Police responded to Spring Street in the town of Fine on March 13, 2026, for a report of a stolen pistol.

An investigation determined the 14-year-old male, of Fine, stole a Glock 22 from a local taxidermy shop.

Further investigation revealed the 14-year-old sold the firearm to the 17-year-old male.

The 17-year-old later made contact with an unknown individual in an attempt to dispose of the firearm.

The 14-year-old was arrested and processed at State Police Gouverneur and released on a Family Court appearance ticket.

The 17-year-old was arraigned in Family Court and released under the supervision of probation.
