Woman arrested on DWI charge in Guilderland

GUILDERLAND, NY — A woman was arrested Wednesday after picking up a child from a summer camp while allegedly intoxicated.

The Guilderland Police Department received a report at approximately 3:25 p.m. that a female subject had picked up a child from a summer camp in the town and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Patrol officers located the vehicle in the area of Western Avenue and Norman Avenue.

Following an investigation, officers determined that the driver was impaired and operating the vehicle with two children inside.

Farrell Ryan, 45, of Slingerlands, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Ryan was processed and released on appearance tickets.

She is scheduled to appear in Guilderland Town Court at a later date.
